Strategy

Assume you’re doing a huge project
You detail it to levels of complexity that can’t be handled
Spend millions and develop it over couple of years
Spend more millions and maintain it for an year

Then comes realisation… this can’t go on!
So you decide to scrap it completely to save the millions you would otherwise spend maintaining it.

Now we make a plan to use a new tool and fewer millions
Whom do you bring in to envision and plan that? Whom do you trust to do it right this time?
The same team that totally messed it up during the previous attempt, of course!
After all they have the “context”.

Are we acting naive or really are, to assume a tool would make all the difference!!!

What is the cost of not doing the Project at all? a.k.a. Opportunity Cost
In many situations, that is what justifies the investment – and the rest is history :)

In this case doing the migration project was very much justified, coz the maintenance cost of current implementation wasn’t justifiable.

The part that was interesting (and sad) is the choice of how to do it, with many of the same mistakes repeated.

Tools is not going to wrok Sajju. Give the project to Service Sector company.
Let that be Globally recognized … and if possible it name starts with an “I ” and end with “S” like “I…..S” :)

Jokes apart ..Nice one Sajju.
